Emma Scullion

Emma Scullion

Achievements:

  • Scottish and N.Ireland Championship medallist with 14 years competitive experience at Open and Championship Competitions to Inter Gold standard / Level 10 standard

From the age of five Emma developed an interest in figure skating and skated competitively up to Inter Gold standard. Coached by Diane Dewar and Yvonne Cameron at East Kilbride and Stephen Pickavance and Karen Barber at Blackburn she hopes to pass on the knowledge gained from the foregoing eminent coaches to her own pupils.

Emma still actively skates but suspended her competitive skating when she was accepted by Glasgow University to continue her interest in sport by completing an Honours Degree in Sports Science. Her chosen subject for her Final Year Honours Dissertation related to biomechanical techniques involved in executing triple jumps.

Emma is returning to University in order to gain her MSc Degree in Physiotherapy whilst continuing her coaching aspirations.

Natalie Smith

Natalie Smith

Standard:

  • NCCP Level 2

With a keen interest in figure skating Natalie wanted to extend her experience from being a competitive skater at Inter Gold standard to being a qualified coach. Natalie is a B.I.T.A. qualified NCCP Level 2 Coach and holds a certificate from St Andrew’s Ambulance for First Aid. As a competitive skater, training with the Elite at Centrum, was given the opportunity to train for a period in Vancouver, Canada, alongside Canadian Champion Emanuel Sandhu. She was a Scottish Championships medalist and also qualified for the British Junior Championships. She attended several training camps gaining experience with American technical specialists such as Kathy Casey and Janet Champion, Brian Orser and Annie Schelter from Canada, and Olympic Gold Medalist and British Champion Robin Cousins.

As well as being a qualified coach, Natalie is studying Three D Dimensional Design, and, achieved the top award for Industrial Design at the Craft Ex Exhibition, Merchants House, in Glasgow. Natalie, also designed the set for a Graduation Fashion Show, as well as, being involved in production media studies sets.

  • Skating tests gained in solo, pairs and ice dance
  • Represented Scotland on several occasions
  • Dancer for Kilmarnock Palace Theatre for 3 years. This included variety and pantomime shows
